Rolling Stone declared genre-bending band Whiskey Myers the new torch bearers for Southern music. The six-piece bands latest album, named after the Texas/Mexico border town thats home to their Sonic Ranch studio, doubles down on what they do best, but also sees them exploring new sonic landscapes. While its still Whiskey Myers, its got more bass and horns, drawing on everything from old Motown and Muscle Shoals to Nirvana and Waylon Jennings, with a bit of gospel thrown in for good measure.
