George Michael was at the height of his solo career when this album was recorded from the FM broadcast of a 1988 concert in France. His debut solo album, Faith, had been released in 1987 and featured the controversial hit single, I Want Your Sex. He went on to win Best British Male Solo Artist at the 1988 Brit Awards and received a Grammy for Album of the Year in 1989.
