Beyoncs eighth studio album features a cover of Dolly Partons Jolene and a cover of The Beatles Blackbird. act ii: Cowboy Carter, the follow up to 2023s act i: Renaissance, includes the top 10 single, Texas Hold Em. With that hit, Beyonc made history as the first Black woman ever to top Billboards Hot Country Songs chart. The song also reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Beyoncs ninth chart-topper and first since Break My Soul.

Beyonc conceived Cowboy Carter as a journey through a reinvention of Americana. Mostly labeled a country album, Cowboy Carter also blends together diverse musical genres, such as R&B, pop, hip-hop, blues, soul, rock and folk music. Conceptually, the album is presented as a radio broadcast by fictional station KNTRY Radio Texas, with country singers Dolly Parton, Linda Martell and Willie Nelson acting as disc jockeys.
