Originally released on February 4, 1991, Innuendo is the bands 14th studio album. Its last album to be released in Freddie Mercurys lifetime, and their most recent one to be composed of entirely new material. Stylistically, Innuendo is in some sense a return to Queens roots, with its harder rock sound, complex musical composition, psychedelic effects and strong vocals from Mercury (ranging three octaves). Nine months after the albums release, Mercury died of AIDS-derived bronchopneumonia.
