Originally released in 1975, the album’s title and artwork nod wryly to The Last Picture Show – a clever, surreal collaboration with visual artist Neon Park that became one of the group’s most recognisable sleeves. Despite being their shortest album, this era produced several of the band’s signature songs, including “One Love Stand” (later covered by Carly Simon) and the soulful “Long Distance Love” (covered by Elvis Costello for A Sweet Relief Tribute to Lowell George). Now receiving the full Rhino deluxe treatment, this 4-CD expanded edition includes a brand-new 2025 remaster from the original tapes, alongside a wealth of unreleased material – demos, alternate takes, and outtakes from the Last Record Album sessions. The set also features a complete previously unreleased live concert recorded at the Orpheum Theatre, Boston, on October 31, 1975, capturing the band’s famed energy in full flight during their mid-’70s peak.
