Selcouth Quartet releases their second single, “Smaller Horses”, in anticipation of their October 2023 full-length album debut from Floki Studios and Color Red. The avant-garde jazz quartet led by drummer virtuoso Joe Russo (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The Benevento/Russo Duo, Shpongle) creates lush soundscapes in their latest release with the aid of Stuart Bogie on clarinet/bass clarinet, guitarist Jonathan Goldberger, and bassist Jon Shaw. “Smaller Horses” bridges jazz, ambient, indie, and avant-garde while keeping listeners engaged with subtle decorations and changes throughout.
