The album’s groundbreaking production helmed by Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind captured the ears fans upon first listen and made Jedi Mind Tricks a staple in the underground hip-hop landscape. However, the instrumentals have never been released on their own. That is until now, as we present the Violent By Design Instrumentals. To commemorate this pivotal release, Babygrande is pressing the album on army green vinyl, autographed by none other thanthe producer virtuoso himself, Stoupe The Enemy Of Mankind.
It’s been nearly 25 years since the album was released but underground hip-hop fans still constantly gravitate to the grimy essence of Vinnie Paz, Jus Allah, and Stoupe. Arguably the most influential underground hip-hop album of the 2000s, Violent has been described by critics as an underground treasure (AllHipHop) and has been praised for Vinnie and Jus brazen lyrics as well as Stoupes innovative instrumentals. Unbeknownst to many listeners, the album was actually recorded in Stoupes bedroom and originally pressed up on the groups own Superegular Records.
