Pianist Robert Glaspers second Blue Note album reunites him with bassist Vicente Archer and drummer Damion Reid for an assured update of the jazz piano trio. Theres a wide variety of moods on offer; from the gorgeously hushed and slow-moving ballad Tribute, through the frenetic, quicksilver interplay of G & B, to the sweeping melodicism of Of Dreams To Come. While Glaspers virtuosity is firmly rooted in the tradition of past masters, hes also not afraid to take daring risks as on his wildly imaginative medley interweaving Herbie Hancocks classic Maiden Voyage with Radioheads Everything In Its Right Place.
