Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Norman Granz’ Jazz at the Philharmonic series brought together the jazz titans of his era to perform together. The JATP Blues in Chicago (1955) returns as a 180gm vinyl LP. Oscar Peterson leads a band with Buddy Rich, Illinois Jacquet, Ray Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, and Herb Ellis performing together. Along with the stars in the title, you’ll encounter Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, Flip Phillips, Buddy Rich, Lester Young and Ray Brown as you hear these storied 1955 performances: “The Blues,” “The Modern Set,” “The Swing Set” and “The Ballad Medley: I Didn’t Know What Time It Was/All of Me/Tenderly/I Can’t Get Started/My Old Flame.”
