Anomie is a record about feeling lost, lonely and existentially unstable. About the relentless search for meaning and someone to kiss. It’s made up of 12 curated tracks written over the course of ten years, as a lyrical record of Anna’s turbulent twenties.
To bring Anomie to life, Anna teamed up with Melbourne producer Benjamin Stewart (Slowly Slowly). They recorded the bulk of the vocals in just one-week in Bens studio in Fitzroy North. Stewart took the lead on the instrumentals, bringing much of his talent, taste, work ethic and ambition to the project. Steered by Anna’s meticulous vision, he adds high-production, pop notes and an ethereal quality to her simple style, amplifying the songs depth and emotional resonance.
