Featuring the great John Mayall flanked by Buddy Whittington (guitar), Hank Van Sickle (bass), and Joe Yuele (drums) among others, 2005’s Road Dogs followed up John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers’ 2002 release Stories. With 71 minutes of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers’ sturdy blues rock, the album’s 15 tracks cover a wide variety of ground, from the slow, deliberate pace of the title cut to the shuffle of “Burned Bridges” to the laid back “Beyond Control.”
