Booomboxxx, is an experimental pop record loaded with unique turntable textures, saxophone blasts, expertly chopped break beats, and gutsy vocals. Although the record effectively mashes together several musical forms, it is Ragels most cohesive and dark work to date. On this record he uses the samples from “Bridgetown Breaks”, a compilation of various breakbeats from up and coming Portland drummers including Kevin O’Connor (Talkdemonic), Danny Seim (Menomena) and others.
