Saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist Wendell Harrison has assembled a stellar group of detroit musicians who have traveled many roads to arrive at this opportunity to display their thoughts on these matters. Harrison, trombonist Phil Ranelin (whos been living on the west coast since then) and keyboard & vocalist artist Pamela Wise display their warmth and spirit in six compositions which reflect an appreciation of the basics and awreness of more recent innovations with harmony , rhythm and melody
Each of the musicians you hear in this recordings are experts with their art, from drummer George Davidson, to percussionist Barbara Hubie. Harold Mckinney, a member of one of Detriots first families of Jazz, and William Austin reflect the quality particular to Detroits veteran musicians.
