Multi-instrumentalist and vintage sound guru Tommy Shugart shares the latest from his artist moniker, Shuga T, with “Red (To Shred)“. The single, at its core, is a classic organ-driven jazz-funk groove, reminiscent of The New Mastersounds. Eventually, the track builds into a high-energy rock and blues drive, with impressive interplay between Shugart on the Hammond B3 organ and the guitarist Rick Lollar ( Jimmy Herring and The 5 of 7). “Red To Shred” is a nod to ColorRedStudios in Denver, CO, where the track was captured on reel-to-reel tape, and highlights Shugart’s dedication to vintage sounds and recording techniques.
