Originally released in 1995, Autopsys fourth and final album before splitting, Shitfun was a glorious scatological gross out and exercise in the limits of extremity. The Californian gore metal band first burst onto the scene in 1988 with almost immediate infamy. Frontman Chris Reifert was already a well-known force on the underground through his time as drummer with Floridas death metal combo Death. After playing drums on the bands debut album, the much acclaimed Scream Bloody Gore, Reifert moved back west and formed Autopsy. The band released the demo Critical Madness in 1988, and they were soon picked up by Peaceville Records.
