Not so much a song but an exorcism, House, Charli xcxs first new release since brat is a sharp left into brutally beautiful, gothic terror. Over weeping orchestral strings, The Velvet Undergrounds John Cale recites a poem like a scryer while Charli xcx screeches the songs sole lyric, I think Im going to die in this house. ( The FADER)

Chains Of Love is haunting it sounds like a True Romance session that shes swept the cobwebs off of impassioned, industrial pop with a hint of new wave and lots of drama. With aching orchestral strings and spectral backing vocals, Chains Of Love is equally magnetic as it is unnerving, capturing how an intangible thing like love can feel more like prison than our own corporeal cages.
