The Trinity Session remains a singular achievement in recorded music, proving that atmosphere, restraint, and intent can outweigh studio complexity. Recorded overnight on 27 November 1987 inside Toronto’s Holy Trinity Church using a single microphone and a DAT recorder, the album captures Cowboy Junkies in a state of remarkable focus, letting the natural acoustics of the space shape the performance. This Expanded Edition presents the album fully remastered and spread across two LPs, restoring the scale and dynamics of the original sessions. Alongside the core album, two bonus tracks – “Blue Moon Revisited (Song For Elvis)” and “Working On A Building” – are included, both now firmly associated with the record’s legacy. The set is housed in a redesigned gatefold sleeve featuring additional photography and new liner notes by author and music editor Jason Schneider.
