Description
“Gladys” by Manycolors is the sonic embodiment of gazing out the window reflecting on times past.” The new group displays a thoughtful brand of soul-hop on their second Color Red release. Brant Williams (guitar) and Eric Luba (keyboards) embrace their jazz backgrounds with a chord structure that stimulates contemplation and can elicit visual depictions of an animated Disney film. Braxton Kahn (drums) and guest violinist Monique Brooks-Roberts give the track a J. Dilla-inspired lofi treatment adding a warm layer of string pads and subtle rhythmic swagger. The group has been active in Color Red Studios and plans on releasing several more tracks.
