25th Anniversary Edition on Silver Vinyl
In a music scene full of seemingly endless subgenres and transient trends, In Flames are an example of what it means to steadfastly stay true to your vision. Since forming in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1990, the legendary melodic metal act has toured the planet countless times and influenced many of todays biggest metal acts without ever ceasing to push their own signature sound forward.
Originally released in May 1999, Colony is the fourth studio album by In Flames. Its the first In Flames album to feature the bands classic line-up: Bjrn Gelotte switched to lead guitar, to replace Glenn Ljungstrm, and Daniel Svensson filled the drummer position left vacant by Gelotte; Peter Iwers became the new bass player, replacing Johan Larsson; Anders Fridn and Jesper Strmblad remained on vocals and rhythm guitar respectively.
The album deals with various aspects of religion, society and spirituality, from the somewhat positive light of Embody The Invisible and The New Word, to the more negative Zombie Inc. and Scorn. Colony features a faster, tighter and more energetic approach than the band previous album, Whoracle.
Released: 7/19/24
