For the past decade or so, Polish musician Michal Jacaszek has been exploring a new, resolutely modern chapter in EasternEuropeslong, storied love affair with classical music. His creations are painstakingly crafted collages of electronic textures and baroque instrumentation.
Michal Jacaszeks and Kwartludium Ensemble new project comes from fascination of nature. It is related to Olivier Messiaens work Catalogue doiseaux, where birdsongs and their environment were translated into musical domain. Jacaszek together with Kwartludium create an atmospheric blend of field recordings, instrumental improvisations and excerptions from Messiaens compositions. (via Label)
