Frenchman Ponty first came to wider commercial recognition with his 1969 ‘King Kong’ album which featured Frank Zappa compositions. Ponty has been a member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra and, in recent years, as part of Return To Forever. His solo recordings are many and varied, all receiving critical acclaim and jazz chart success.
